Magma is an annual publication and online platform for visual and written work that aims to critically intersect art, politics and poetics.
The editors’ interests in the areas of feminism, post-colonial critique, psychoanalysis and the significance of art labour inform each edition’s topic. The publication brings together different forms of texts and visual work including creative writing, poetry, fiction, interviews and essays. The digital segment of Magma functions as an online platform including sound-based and visual works, collections of texts and podcasts and an archive of past issues. Magma is a not-for-profit project conceptualised by a team of millennial editors reflecting on the post-cynical predicament. The now expanded Magma project originated from Archipelago, a publication by artists, curators and theorists at the MA Art & Politics at Goldsmiths, University of London. |
